Christmas 2010
I spent the whole month of December going from store to store looking for gifts i knew Gianna and Felix wanted. By last week i was also looking for some meaningful Christmas cards and gifts for some friends, too. Here i sit December 25th 10:45pm stuffed with bread, fish, chocolate and peanutbutter pie and i am glad we celebrated Christmas on a smaller scale this year. Indeed less is more. There's something to be said for accepting our lot in life and going with it. We have a small scattered family and finances were tight but a small quiet day spent at home was just what we needed. We didn't have a huge seven fish Christmas Eve party like we've done in the past. W had e didn't perform in any Christmas pagents or choirs. The three of us went to mass anonomously and had three visitors. But we listened to each other. No one feels burnt out or disappointed. We spent the day home watching various versions of scrooge. But as Gianna says, "it's all good." It was definately worth it.
